Temporary Desktop Support Technician

Department: Help Desk
Location: Omaha, NE

*This position will be required to work in the corporate office in Omaha, NE.

*Starting hourly rate around $19.00 per hour.

 

General Position Summary

As a temporary Desktop Support Technician your primary focus will be to ensure the seamless return of associates to the home office.  As part of this process you will be staging technical equipment on predetermined desks within the office in preparation for the associates return.  At scheduled times you will meet associates at the dock to assist with technical equipment returns and as needed additional technical set up at the associates predetermined desk.  In addition, this role will participate in the planning, imaging, testing, and deployment of technical equipment as part of our annual life cycle.  This role requires a high level of customer focus, proficiency in technical knowledge and ability, and experienced in technical troubleshooting.

What we are looking for:  

  • Stage technical equipment on predetermined desks within the office in preparation for the associates return.
  • Image technical end point devices using a windows image (WIM) within Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
  • Install and configure software manually, through group policy, and through SCCM deployments.
  • Assist associates with the setup of their technical equipment.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting for any issues identified at the time of setup.
  • Meet with associates to assist with technical equipment returns.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment.
  • Track all technical equipment in motion within ServiceNow.
  • Participate in planning and discussion meetings.
  • Assist with the management of recycled or end of life technical equipment.
  • Assist with the boxing/unboxing of technical equipment and tracking within ServiceNow.
  • Follow defined process for wiping data on all technical equipment scheduled for inventory, recycling, or repair.
  • Adhere to the WoodmenLife attendance policy to ensure proper management and support.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High level of customer service and a drive to provide quality delivery.
  • Proficient with the technical setup and troubleshooting of end point devices and peripherals.
  • Experience working in similar work environment with similar duties.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • General understanding of Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
  • General understanding of Active Directory.
